I am a visual artist living in Athens Georgia. I moved here from Oslo, Norway in 2003. Love made me leave behind a degree in Art History, History of Ideas and Comparative Literature, and I traded it in for a life as a musican in the band of Montreal.
When a baby came along, I started focusing more and more on visual art. Together with Kevin & David Barnes I founded the Apollinaire Rave Productions Inc, an art society solely focusing on creating art, visuals, music videos, performance art, album art work and merchandise for of Montreal.
For the release of the Skeletal Lamping album we made the actual CD packaging into a sculpture, and the album itself was attached to different art objects (wall decals, lanterns, buttons, t-shirt etc) as digital downloads.
I work mostly with watercolors and acrylics and montages. I process the paintings/drawings in photoshop, and then I print them and repaint them and do it all over again, until I get the wanted texture.
Aside from Apollinare Rave I have my own company, Geminitactics, that makes t-shirts, underwear and totebags, currently being sold online and at stores in Athens GA.
I’m currently in the process of finishing a children’s book and the art work for of Montreal’s upcoming album False Priest, due in September 2010.
